Frequently asked questions
Everything about renting a WAV for 1, 2 or 3 years. Can’t find your answer? Get in touch.
The basics
How does long-term WAV rental work?
You choose a wheelchair accessible vehicle and a term of 1, 2 or 3 years, and pay one weekly price that covers insurance, registration, servicing and roadside assistance. We own and maintain the vehicle. You just drive it.
What's the difference between a business plan and a personal plan?
Business plans are for organisations and rideshare or taxi drivers using the vehicle for work: 1, 2 or 3 years, billed weekly. Personal plans are for people and families: 12 or 24 months, and the total you'll ever pay is capped below the vehicle's value. 2-year personal plans include unlimited kilometres. Both are billed weekly, and both include insurance, rego, servicing and roadside assistance.
Can I buy the vehicle at the end of a personal plan?
There's no purchase option built into the plan, and you're never obliged to buy. When your plan ends you can return the vehicle or start a new plan. If you'd like to buy it, ask us then and we'll make you an offer.
Why rent long-term instead of buying?
A converted WAV can cost $80,000 or more to buy, and the ramp and restraints need specialist servicing. Renting means no big up-front cost, predictable weekly payments, and no worrying about resale value or repair bills.
Why is a longer term cheaper per week?
A vehicle loses most of its value early on. Over a longer term that cost is spread across more weeks, so we pass the saving on. The price you sign up at is fixed for your whole term.
Who can rent from you?
People and families (on a personal plan), and disability, aged care and community transport providers, other organisations, and rideshare and wheelchair accessible taxi drivers (on a business plan). Every driver needs to be 25 or older with a full (not learner or provisional) Australian licence.
Pricing & payments
What's included in the weekly price?
Comprehensive insurance, registration and CTP, scheduled servicing, tyres and brakes, ramp and restraint servicing, 24/7 roadside assistance, and a handover walkthrough. Fuel, tolls, fines and any insurance excess are not included.
How do I pay?
Rent is deducted automatically every week, in advance, by direct debit from your bank account or by card. You set this up once through a secure Stripe link. We never see or store your card or bank details.
Is there a bond?
Yes. The bond is 4 weeks' rent on personal plans, 4 weeks' rent for drivers and 2 weeks for organisations. It's refunded at the end of your term, less any unpaid amounts or damage outside fair wear and tear.
How many kilometres can I drive?
2-year personal plans include unlimited kilometres, with no excess fees. Business plans usually include 25,000 km a year, and 12-month personal plans 20,000 km a year. If you go over, extra kilometres are charged at $0.20 per km. Rideshare and taxi drivers can ask for a higher allowance.
Do prices include GST?
Yes. All prices on this site are in Australian dollars and include GST.
Vehicles & accessibility
Will my wheelchair fit?
Each vehicle page lists the ramp's weight rating and the wheelchair space dimensions. Before you sign anything, you can inspect the vehicle and bring the chair along to check the fit. If you're unsure, call us and we'll help.
Do I need a special licence to drive a WAV?
No. Our vehicles are driven on a standard car (C class) licence. We give you a full walkthrough of the ramp and restraints at handover.
What if the vehicle breaks down or needs repairs?
Call our 24/7 roadside assistance for breakdowns. Servicing and mechanical repairs from normal use are on us, and we'll work with you to keep you moving while the vehicle is off the road.
Can someone else drive the vehicle?
Yes, as long as they're approved by us first. Each additional driver needs to meet the same age and licence requirements.
Your term
What happens at the end of my term?
You can start a new term (often on a newer vehicle), or simply return the vehicle. We'll check it over with you and refund your bond once everything's squared away.
Can I end my rental early?
Life changes, and we understand. Early exit is possible. Your agreement sets out the notice period and any early-exit fee before you sign, so there are no surprises.
What do I need to apply?
For personal plans: the main driver's licence details and contact information, plus proof of address. For drivers: your licence details, NSW Driver Authority and booking-service account (e.g. Uber, DiDi or a taxi network), plus proof of address. For organisations: your ABN, a contact person, and the drivers you'd like approved. Applying is free and doesn't commit you to anything.
Can I use the vehicle for rideshare or taxi work?
Yes, when you apply as a driver. You'll need a current NSW Driver Authority and to work through an authorised booking service. We'll confirm the insurance and registration setup with you before handover.
